It’s that time of year again—when toothy sharks and thirsty humans unite for a salute to brews with an aquatic twist.

Shark Talks
(African Hall)

  • 7:30pm - Learn what it takes to discover a new shark species with Vicky Vásquez, graduate student at the Pacific Shark Research Center, who named the Ninja Lanternshark.
     
  • 8:30pm - Get a crash course in shark behavior with Shark Stewards founder and director David McGuire; great white shark expert Dr. John McCosker, the Academy’s Chair Emeritus of Aquatic Biology; and learn about shark migrations from Tim White, graduate student at Stanford’s Hopkins Marine Station.

Virtual Shark Tank

Shark Trivia

  • The Academy's Osher Rainforest will be closed for updates beginning September 5th and re-open for NightLife on 10/12 with a brand new, immersive cave experience and many more exciting updates.

  • Thirsty? Each bar area features a unique seasonal cocktail—there are multiple bars throughout the museum.
     
  • Special programs and lectures may have limited seating and admission will also be made available to visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.
     
  • Programming schedule and lineup subject to change.

PLANETARIUM PASSES

  • Planetarium passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Early event arrival is strongly recommended due to limited capacity and high demand for passes.

  • A variety of food options are available at NightLife from 6:00-9:30 pm, including The Academy Cafe, The Terrace, and The Academy Cafe Food Cart located in the front lobby.
     
  • Enjoy a different fresh seasonal "craft on draft" cocktail at each NightLife bar area designed by our resident mixologist Shane McKnight!
