The Academy is open daily! Please note that we've made some important changes to our dining program for your safety:
- Eating and drinking indoors is no longer permitted. Food and drink purchased in the Café must be consumed outdoors. Guests are welcome to bring food from home, but we ask that all outside food be consumed in the East Garden.

The Academy Café honors the agricultural bounty of California and highlights local, sustainable, and seasonal ingredients. Enjoy freshly prepared as well as grab-and-go items Monday through Thursday, with fresh pizza, mac 'n cheese, and soups added Friday through Sunday.
Please note: For your safety, indoor seating is no longer available. Please enjoy your meal in one of our lovely outdoor gardens.
The Terrace Restaurant

The Terrace Restaurant features seasonal dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, served in a beautiful outdoor, fast-casual setting. Relax in the West Garden with a glass of wine, or try our selection of regional beers.
*Effective September 28, The Terrace Restaurant will be closed Tuesday-Thursday.
Meet our Executive Chef!
Dante Cecchini has dedicated his career to crafting delicious food with local ingredients that celebrates the multiculturalism of San Francisco.
Kicking off his career at Citizen Cake, Dante honed his skills at Marlowe, Park Tavern, and the Cavalier, earning national recognition as one of Zagat’s 30 Under 30 Chefs in America. From there, he channeled his passion into opening two new San Francisco classics, Fiorella and Violet’s.
Dante is excited and honored to serve as Executive Chef at the museum that captured his imagination as a child. Welcome, Chef!

We require a minimum of 10 boxed lunches per order. Please allow at least seven business days for processing.
