The ALA recently released its list of 2010’s most frequently challenged books. Challenged books are those which have had a “formal, written complaint filed with a library or school requesting that a book or other material be restricted or removed because of its content or appropriateness.”

What’s number one on the list? A picture book based on the true story of two male penguins that parented a chick in New York’s Central Park zoo.
