Presented by the SFPUC, SFUSD, and Green Schoolyards America

Please join the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, San Francisco Unified School District and Green Schoolyards America for an exciting public event that explores the potential of living schoolyards as powerful stormwater management tools. Renowned landscape architect Birgit Teichmann from Berlin, Germany will share her expertise about living schoolyard design for stormwater management.

The presentation will include a discussion of: best practices for managing stormwater on school grounds; ecological design; children’s participation in planning and construction; the role of public art; beneficial risk philosophy for children’s play; and the role of place-making in a diverse urban environment. This program includes a networking reception from 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm. The presentation will begin at 4:00 pm.
