Investigating worms

This is an in-person, outdoor workshop in Golden Gate Park near the museum.

How can we help all young learners to engage with and learn from the world around them? In this in-person, outdoor workshop, we will model strategies for supporting the youngest learners to explore, ask questions, and investigate outside.

It’s a great time to take your teaching outdoors! Just outside your classroom door, you may find the keys to unlocking your students’ curiosity and creativity.

Bring your inner child with you to experience a learning sequence that helps young children to become active and engaged explorers. The workshop is based around our “super noticer series,” and you will leave with a set of lessons you can use right away in any outdoor setting. We will demonstrate ways to lead this learning equitably, and you will have the opportunity to talk with fellow educators and apply strategies to your own unique teaching context.

We hope you’ll join us for a rejuvenating time outdoors in Golden Gate Park, and a chance to connect with other teachers of young children. This workshop is designed for Preschool - 3rd grade teachers, but teachers of younger or older students may also find it valuable. All educators are welcome.

Please note: We previously offered an online version of the "Let's Go Outside" workshop.  This session will repeat much of the same content, updated for the in-person context.
