Members are invited to a special screening of captivating and adventure-packed documentaries brought to the Academy by Mountainfilm on Tour.

See how Tim and Nicole transformed seven of the abandoned lots in Detroit into areas where beehives can thrive. Hear the courageous stories of women fighting fires—and stereotypes. Explore the natural habitat of newts. Watch the story of a couple who collected a million different insects from 70 different countries. Learn about the environmental impact a new dam will have on the San Joaquin River. After the screening, hear from Academy scientists Shannon Bennett, PhD, and Lauren Esposito, PhD, as they discuss the power of film, art, and ideas to create a better world.

Free for members. Reservations are required. This event is recommended for ages 8+. We regret that children ages 4 and under cannot be admitted. Please note that the 3:30 and 4:30 pm planetarium shows will be canceled this day. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Please note that there is no late entry and no in-and-out privileges for this show. The show will end promptly at 5:30 pm at which time guests must exit the museum.
