What is a matching gift?
Many companies support their employees' philanthropic efforts by contributing an equal amount (sometimes more!) to employees' donations to select charities and nonprofits. It's a surprisingly easy way to double your impact on causes you support—like the Academy.
What if I already have a matching gift form from my employer?
If you already have a matching gift form from your employer, that's great news! You can send it to the Academy in one of three ways:
Via email: Scan or take a photograph of the form and email it as an attachment to matchinggifts@calacademy.org.
Via fax: Fax the form to our offices at 415-379-5750.
Via snail-mail: Mail the form to our offices at:

Can I pay partial or in full through my employer or use my matching gift to purchase or renew my membership?
No, corporate giving and match programs are extremely generous corporate philanthropy programs, and they are meant to be extensions of a donor’s own generosity in support of nonprofit organizations, rather than cover the partial or full cost of renewal or purchase of a membership. All employee giving and matched donations are treated as strict donations, no benefits.

If your employer's name doesn't pop up automatically, your company may not have a matching gifts program. We recommend checking in with your human resources department to make sure.
If the drop-down list of suggested employers is getting cut off, try entering more letters of the employer's name in the search bar to further narrow down your search.
