Free Admission Days
There are numerous opportunities to visit the Academy free of charge, including:
- Opening Day
The Academy will be free to the public on Saturday, September 27, 2008. - Wachovia Wednesdays
Free general admission to the Academy on the third Wednesday of every month is made possible by Wachovia. - Neighborhood Free Days
San Francisco residents in each zip code enjoy free general admission on select weekends, including Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Ticket Discounts
Visitors can receive $3 off their general admissions tickets in one of two ways:
- Take public transportation to the Academy
- Bike to the Academy
Dining
Enjoy dining options brought to you by the Academy's renowned chefs-in-residence, Charles Phan (Slanted Door) and Loretta Keller (Bizou and COCO500).
Café
The Academy Café offers a multicultural menu designed to appeal to appetites of all ages. Open daily during standard museum hours.
Restaurant
The Moss Room is a full service restaurant that features cuisine created with local, organic and seasonal ingredients.
Lunch: 11:30 am - 2:30 pm
Dinner: 5:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Accessibility
The Academy experience has been designed with diverse visitors in mind. In addition, the Academy provides a wide variety of services and information for individuals with disabilities.
Among the services offered are:
- A set number of wheelchairs are available upon request
- Accessible parking is available in the underground garage
- Assistive listening devices are available for visitors who are deaf or hard-of-hearing
- Audio tours are available for visitors who are blind or partially sighted
- Guide and service animals are permitted in the museum
